Information we collect
When you use the site, we may process your account email address, display name, learning progress, saved study notes, assessment responses, certificate details, contact submissions, and information you choose to provide. We also collect limited, privacy-aware usage information such as visits, pages viewed, device type, and referrer host. Anonymous visits are not used to identify a person.
How we use information
We use this information to provide learning tools, preserve your progress, issue and verify certificates, respond to messages, improve the site, safeguard the community, and understand aggregate use of the program. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising profiles.
Instagram and Facebook
If Lumen Orientis enables a Meta or Instagram connection, it will use the authorization granted by an account administrator only to manage the program’s own social-media presence, including preparing or publishing approved content and receiving selected platform notifications. We do not request or store your Instagram password. Connected social data is not sold or shared for unrelated purposes.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared only with providers needed to operate the site and its services, such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, storage, and Meta when an authorized social-media connection is used. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect people, the site, or the public.
Retention and security
We retain information only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to meet legal obligations, or to maintain educational records you request. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also request removal of a connected social-media authorization. Some records may need to be retained where necessary for certificates, security, or legal obligations.
Children and pastoral privacy
Lumen Orientis is an educational initiative, not a place to submit confidential pastoral, sacramental, medical, or financial information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information improperly, please contact us so we can address it.
